What you can do with PixiMelon
PixiMelon is built around three real tools that share one editor, so anything you make in one place can move to the next:
Why it stays fast and private
- Free and no sign-up. Open the page and start drawing.
- Private by architecture. Images are processed locally on your device — uploads, accounts and servers are not part of the workflow. Your work is also autosaved only in your own browser.
- Real exports. Download PNG at up to 16× scale, true vector SVG, vector PDF, animated GIF and sprite sheets.
- Works on mobile and desktop. Touch drawing, responsive layout and keyboard shortcuts on desktop.
Learn the craft
New to pixel art? These guides follow the exact options in the app:
- How to make pixel art — canvas, tools, layers, export.
- How to turn a picture into pixel art — the conversion workflow that works.
- How to animate pixel art — timing, onion skin, GIF vs sprite sheet.
- Pixel art color palettes and dithering — the two settings that change everything.
Frequently asked questions
Is PixiMelon free?
Yes. All three tools — converter, maker and animator — are free and require no account.
Do I need to install or sign up?
No. PixiMelon runs entirely in your browser. Open a tool page and start working.
Do my pictures leave my device?
No. Uploaded pictures, PDF pages and your artwork are processed locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server as part of the workflow.
What can I export?
Still images export to PNG (native 1× size), vector SVG and vector PDF. Animations export to animated GIF and PNG sprite sheets, and any single frame exports like a still image.
Which files can I upload?
PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG images, plus PDF and Illustrator files — the first page is rasterized locally so you can pixelate it. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.
Can I edit a converted image by hand?
Yes. Every conversion can be sent to the full pixel editor with one click, and anything you draw can be sent to the animator the same way.
